Fate Bread Rolls/Loaf

Method

Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

Place all-purpose mix in a bowl, add yeast and salt.

In a jug mix together oil, warm water.

Pour the liquid mix into the dry mix and whisk quickly until all blended. It will be runny to begin with, but will soon thicken a little. Mix to make a smooth and silky mixture. Then, divide the mixture as evenly possible between two greased baking trays. Lightly sprinkle with a little all-purpose flour. Gently pat the mixture into a smooth round shape.

Cover and prove by placing the tray into a large polythene bag. Leave in a warm place to prove/rise. The bread should rise to almost double, do not overprove.

Mark the bread in a traditional way by using a wet knife to cut the surface of the bread. Immediately place into the oven.

Bake for 35-40 mins until risen and golden brown.

Remove the loaves from the baking tray and place on a wire rack to cool.

For bread rolls:

Follow the recipe but shape the bread however required. As long as you have a little all-purpose mix on your hands the mixture will not be sticky.
