Fundraiser Results 2016
Tuesday, 31 January 2017

We received over $200,000 in 2016. A BIG THANK YOU to all our members, families & friends for their involvement in making these fundraisers a success.

Below are activities that some of these funds were raised from:

In memory of Con - $800
Con Joulianos passed away in 2016 and his wishes were that all funds donated by family & friends go to the PKU Association for continued research and support for all PKU families. Con's grandson Stephen was born with PKU whom he was very close to.

Padre Pio Committee - $300
Thank you to the Padre Pio Committee for your continued support in raising funds for PKU research.

Friends of Rotary Charity Ball - $10,000
A huge thank you to Douglas Partners, Perich Group and The Rotary Club of Narellan for their generous support. The PKU Association greatfully accepted a donation of $10,000 at the Friends of Rotary Charity Ball on Saturday 13th August. The funding is for research being undertaken at The Childrens Hospital at Westmead towards better treatment for individuals with PKU.

PKU Gala Dinner - $160,000
The PKU Association would like to thank Mirella and the Gala Dinner Committee (Bridie Melham, Mirella Nicomede, Sandra Bellino, Vanessa Pesavento and Maria Dovico) who have worked tirelessly over the last 5 years. The commitment shown by these ladies not only to make the night increasingly spectacular and entertaining. But more importantly even more successful in raising much needed money towards finding a better treatment for those with PKU. The Comittee not only managed to attract and successfully entertain a record 430 patrons. Which is an achievement itself. With their commitment to making the night a success they've also managed to raise a whopping $160,000.00. Photos of the evening can be viewed from the below link.

The Kings School Fundraiser - $3000.00
Last week (mid June), the boys from the Kings School got behind James MsDonald to raise Awareness of PKU and raise some money for the Research. Each boy from the Prep School enjoyed a calippo iceblock and chupa-chup at morning tea plus have a guess at several jelly bean competitions going on at the school throughout the day. All the teachers sported the new blue PKU Association caps whilst James and his house captain Jasper Donnelly dressed in the Phen suits and collected donations. Whilst causing plenty of disruption and havoc throughout the day, the school was pleased to announce that close to $3,000 was raised. Many thanks to the boys from Thomas House, Jo Grinhan and the Kings School teachers for making this wonderful day happen.
