Activities enjoyed by all campers and supervisors at Milson Island in
October 2006 were:
Day 1: Fencing and Archery in the afternoon after lunch and settling in.
Day 2: Canoeing on the Hawkesbury in the morning then High or Low Ropes in the afternoon and games after dinner.
Day 3: Fishing (for someone else to eat) in the morning then a bike ride and history tour including caves and a bush-walk to the highest point of the island looking across the Hawkesbury River. BBQ lunch with vegie skewers and swimming & ball games after lunch. The evening activity was a camp fire with cooking a low phe damper and story-telling.
Day 4: Education session with dietitians and social worker from The Children's Hospital at Westmead focussing on feelings, bithday parties etc. and a cooking session to make pizza and apple turnovers. The afternoon was spent swimming and playing basketball, tennis & at the park. As this was the last night, their time was celebrated with an evening disco.
Day 5: Campers were presented with awards for their efforts and participation but some had to leave for the airport immediately after.
Those who left later learnt how to throw a boomerang and then all caught the ferry back to Brooklyn wharf.
